At the former site of Confiserie Roothooft in Antwerp, a redevelopment project transformed the historic location into a mixed-use office and residential complex. As part of the development, an underground parking structure had to be constructed partially beneath the existing building and around the site’s iconic chimney structure.

To enable the realization of this underground level, Future Foundations was entrusted with the execution of the foundation and excavation works. Using advanced jet grouting techniques, Future Foundations successfully created a secure excavation pit partly underneath the existing structure while ensuring the stability of the surrounding heritage elements.

Future Foundations delivered a fully integrated solution for the client, taking responsibility for the preliminary investigations, geotechnical design, and execution of the foundation works. This comprehensive approach ensured seamless coordination throughout the project and provided the client with a reliable and efficient turnkey foundation solution.
