Jet grout piles using the bi-jet technique

Europaterminal, Antwerp (BE)

Jetgrouting europaterminal

During the construction of the new Europa terminal, jet grout piles had to be made at several locations to make soil and watertight connections to great depths.

For this purpose, jet grout piles with diameters varying between 1.1 and 1.6 metres were realised using the bi-jet technique. In addition, both the diameter of the piles, the deviation of the drill rod and the compressive strength of the jetgrout piles had to be systematically controlled using state-of-the-art techniques.

Future Foundations was selected to carry out these works because of its in-house expertise regarding design , execution and control of jet grouting works. The flexibility in responding to the tight schedule of this project was also appreciated by the client.
