Repairing embankments below railway

Beneath the North–South railway connection through the centre of Brussels, several enclosed railway embankments protected with shotcrete lining required extensive rehabilitation after years of service. Due to the critical nature of this major railway corridor, the project was subject to extremely strict settlement tolerances, while access to the work zones was highly constrained and logistically complex.

Future Foundations developed a detailed and innovative execution methodology specifically tailored to these challenging site conditions. Particular attention was given to minimising ground movements and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the railway infrastructure throughout the works.

By deploying specialised equipment and advanced execution techniques, Future Foundations successfully completed the rehabilitation works without inducing measurable settlements and fully within the planned schedule. The carefully coordinated approach ensured that railway operations, local residents, and surrounding stakeholders experienced no disruption during the execution of the project.
