Shotcrete for the Annie Cordy tunnel.

Renovation tunnel, Brussels (BE)

Shotcrete at Annie Cordy tunnel

As part of the renovation of the Annie Cordy Tunnel, a significant portion of the tunnel roof had to be fitted with cathodic protection (ICCP type). To this end, the existing tunnel roof had to be covered with a uniform layer of repair mortar.

Due to the very limited working hours (the tunnel remained in use during the day) and strict quality requirements, an automated spraying robot was used.

This robot is capable of scanning the surface to be treated in 3D and independently applying a uniform layer of repair mortar. This enabled high efficiency and consistent quality.
