Trial anchor installation
TM ROCO, Ground anchors, Oosterweel link, Antwerp (BE)
As part of the Oosterweel project (Oosterweel link), a series of trial anchors of the IRS and IGU types were required to support the final design decisions. Future Foundations was entrusted with the execution of these strand anchors.
We successfully installed the anchors and subsequently carried out the necessary testing procedures. Through this process, we provided reliable data that contributed to informed and confident final design choices.
But guess what, the work of Future Foundations didn't stop with ground anchors.
we are executing sheet piling, jet-grouting, compensation grouting and soil nailing/micropiling works, forming essential components of the project’s underground structures and soil stabilisation strategy.
In addition, at the R1 North Tunnel, we have deployed The Cube System, a miniaturised slurry wall machine co-developed with Bauer Maschinen GmbH. This compact technology is constructing an underground polder wall to protect the tunnel and its surroundings from groundwater.
Together, these works demonstrate our ability to combine conventional techniques with innovative solutions, delivering safe and reliable results in one of Belgium’s most challenging infrastructure projects.
